Answering the question,"How?" is the most important decision you could make. It is unlike any other relationship you could have. If you die without a personal relationship with Christ, you will spend eternity apart from Him.

There is just one thing that could separate you from Christ and the Bible calls it, "sin."

HOW WE TEND TO THINK

As humans we tend to divide people into different two categories, the good and the bad people. God loves you and says that every person is a sinner and that sin(wrong doing) separates us from God. This includes you and me. The Bible says below,

For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God ~ Romans 3:23

According to man's rules, people should be punished or rewarded according to how good they are.God is Holy and man is sinful.Our thoughts and ways are not like God's. God loves you and has a special plan for your life.

Man tries to have a close relationship with God by doing good things through our own efforts and our own ways such as, good life, philosophy, religion, but always falls short. We cannot obtain a close relationship with Christ by our own efforts, but through the efforts of Christ.

GOD'S LOVE

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. ~ John 3:16

God loves YOU!

GOD'S DIVINE PLAN

God wants you to have a full life.

I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. ~ John 10:10b

Maybe you're thinking that you have to make things right or change something in your life before you come to Jesus. There are many people who feel that way, but that is not what God says:

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. ~ Romans 5:8

Christ loves you just as you are and wants only the best for you. He has shown this by His death on the cross for you. There is nothing you have to change or do because Christ has done it all. God has the free gift of Heaven and eternal life waiting to be received.

But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, ~ Titus 3:4-5a

It is God's grace that allows you to come to Him and not your efforts to "clean up or change your life. " You cannot work your way to Heaven or earn it, it is a free gift.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast. ~ Ephesians 2:8-9

For you to come to God, your sin must be paid for. God's gift to you is His Son, Jesus, who paid the debt for you.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. ~ Romans 6:23

Jesus paid the debt for your sin and mine so that you would not have to. He did it by giving His life on Calvary's cross. God brought Jesus back from the dead three days later and has paved the way for you to have a personal relationship with Him through Jesus Christ, His Son.

IS THERE ANY OTHER WAY TO HEAVEN?

No. Jesus said this, " I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

YOUR RESPONSIBILITY

Let's review some things we have discussed.

First, we all sin, including you. Sin leads to death and separation from God forever in Hell.

Second, God loves you and wants you to have a full life here on Earth and in Heaven.

Third, He has given you forgiveness for your sin and paid your sin debt through Christ God's free gift.

Fourth, Christ (your free gift), died on the cross of Calvary and was raised three days later from the grave to pay that sin debt.

SO, WHAT'S NEXT?

All you have to do is receive or accept Christ, God's free gift to you. HOW?

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Romans 10:9

Saved from what? Eternal separation from God in Hell.

Remember, God loves you and wants you to spend eternity with Him in Heaven.

First, believe in your heart that Christ has died for your sin and was raised three days later.

Second, confess with your mouth that this is true.

How?

If it is your sincere desire to ask Jesus to give you eternal life and be your personal Lord and Savior, then talk to God through prayer. Here is a guide if you need it:

"Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and I do not deserve to live forever with you, forgive me for my sin. But I do believe you died and rose again from the grave because you love me and paid my sin debt so that I could live forever in Heaven with you. Jesus, come into my life, take control, and save me from hell. Help me now to live my life for you. Amen"
